What is Microempowering.org?

Microempowering.org is a not-for-profit organization formed to empower grass-roots sustainable development education, social entrepreneurs, and microenterprise organizations, at the community (micro) level.

We also provide access to information, knowledge management technology, and project management strategies to organizations and social entrepreneurs to implement these projects on a case-by-case basis.

How we will achieve our goal?

We will achieve our goal by bridging the gaps between grass-roots sustainable projects and donors, businesses, government programs, not-for-profit organizations, microfinance institutions, and academia using a 360-degree closed loop approach.  Success will come when all parties fulfill their role and work together.

Who will benefit from our organization?

Everyone will benefit from MicroEmpowering.  The poor who have limited access to credit and resources, and social entrepreneurs who lack the knowledge or necessary networks necessary to expand, will be primary beneficiaries.

What differentiates Microempowering.org from other not-for-profit organizations?

Microempowering.org is an organic organization with a horizontal approach to sustainable development.  We tackle the problems of communities from the bottom up, which means listening to the locals to identify their pressing needs and partnering with not-for-profits that employ people locally.  Our position: individuals are the ones affected most by the lack of resources.  Listening to them and being attentive to their needs is essential for our partnership!

What do we not do?

We DO NOT fund projects with energy sources that will exponentially increase carbon emissions and harm the local environment. Our commitment is to make sure we only select projects that will empower the local community, and improve the environment. Please look into the “what we do and what we don’t do” best practices sub-section.
